Libyan Airlines, الخطوط الجوية الليبية, was founded in 1964 and is the flag carrier of Libya. It was originally known as Libyan Arab Airlines until 2006 where they renamed to their current form. The airline is based in Tripoli, but operates services to Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Libyan Airlines is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Libyan Airlines permit one carry-on bag per person. The dimensions of this item must not exceed 23 x 40 x 55cm and 8kg in weight. This applies for passengers travelling in business class and economy class. Libyan Airlines currently offer cabin baggage free of charge

Libyan Airlines require passengers to check-in for their flights at the airport. The check-in desk opens two hours prior to departure, and will be closed 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
The fleet currently consist of Airbus and Bombardier aircraft, with more in development plans including Boeings.
Tripoli International Airport
Tripoli International Airport is an international airport serving Tripoli and it’s surrounding areas. After the Libyan Civil War which resulted in closures from mid-2014 due to much damage to the building and aircraft, it was announced in July 2018 that reconstruction work will commence at the airport, resuming some commercial services. This airport was also the hub for Afriqiyah Airways, Buraq Air, and Ghadames Air Transport. Berneeq Fly is a new Libyan airline which may operate services out of this airport.
